Buying or selling is not available
Buying and selling run through a third-party provider, and providers work under licences that cover some countries and not others. They also decide which assets, networks and payment methods they serve. Where the provider does not serve you, a purchase or sale cannot start. That is the provider's decision and its compliance obligation, not a setting inside the wallet.
Everything else keeps working. Other ways to get funds in:
- receive from an exchange that serves your country;
- receive from another wallet you hold;
- swap something you already have.
"This service is not available in your region."
Smartable's own service — the one that supplies balances, prices, history, swap routes and purchases — is not offered in some regions, for legal reasons. When it cannot be used from where you are, the app says so on one screen instead of failing in several places at once.
- Your funds are safe. Your keys have never left your phone, and nothing about them has changed. The wallet still holds them; it cannot reach the service from here, so balances and prices are not shown.
- Your keys are still yours to use. The screen shows your addresses, and your recovery phrase and private keys remain available behind your password, for use in other wallet software.
- It clears by itself. The app does not store the refusal. If you are travelling, the wallet reconnects on its own once the service answers again — nothing to reinstall.
The screen names no country on purpose: a location reading can be wrong, and the wallet will not accuse you of being somewhere you are not.
What the app shows
- “This service is not available in your region.”
- “Your funds are safe.”
- “If you are travelling, the wallet reconnects on its own once you are back.”
Security note
Never share your recovery phrase, private key, password or device PIN. Smartable will never ask for them or ask you to sign a transaction to “verify” or “recover” your wallet.
