What does non-custodial mean?

Smartable is non-custodial wallet software built for self-custody. It does not hold your crypto-assets or create a custody account for you.

Your recovery phrase and signing authority remain under your control. Smartable cannot freeze your assets, move them on your behalf, or restore access without recovery material you control.

If I lose my phone, do I lose my crypto?

Accepted Answer

Not if you still have the recovery material needed to restore the wallet.

That can be your recovery phrase, or — if you chose split backup — the required number of recovery shares and the wallet password you had when you made the backup. A new device can restore access only through supported recovery material.

A split backup can be stored across independent locations you choose, including a written share and encrypted shares held with separate backup services. Do not store every share, password, and recovery option in the same phone, cloud account, email inbox, or physical location.

If you lose both your device and every required recovery option, Smartable cannot restore the wallet or recover the assets.

Never share your recovery phrase, recovery shares, wallet password, private key, or device-unlock secret with a website, another person, or anyone claiming to be support.

Question 3

Can Smartable reverse a transaction?

No. Once a transaction is confirmed by a blockchain, Smartable cannot cancel, reverse, or recover it.

Before you sign, check the network, recipient, asset, amount, fee, and route details where applicable. A submitted transaction may still fail, remain pending, or be rejected; a confirmed transaction may be irreversible.

Does Smartable charge a subscription?

No. Smartable does not charge a subscription fee for the wallet.

Smartable charges a disclosed fee for supported swap and cross-chain routes. The applicable Smartable fee and how it is collected are shown before you confirm. Network fees are separate and depend on the network and transaction.

On some routes, a Smartable fee may require a separate transaction. When that applies, the amount, recipient, and transaction details are shown, and you must authorise that transaction separately.

Question 5

Are swaps and bridges guaranteed?

No. A quote is not a guarantee of execution, settlement, timing, or final amount received.

Swap and cross-chain routes depend on external networks, providers, protocols, liquidity, smart contracts, and route conditions. A cross-chain route can involve more than one network and more than one transaction. Fees may still be paid even if a transaction fails or is reverted.

Smartable shows the available information before you sign, but you should review the provider, route, network, amount, recipient, fees, and expected result.

Question 6

Does Smartable recommend a swap or provider?

No. Smartable can show available routes and providers, but it does not make an investment decision for you or substitute a different provider after you have made a selection.

Available routes can change because of liquidity, network conditions, provider responses, technical restrictions, or availability in your region.

Question 7

What happens if a network or provider is unavailable?

Accepted Answer

Balances, history, prices, quotes, and transaction status depend on blockchain networks and third-party services. That information can be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable.

Smartable is designed to make known gaps visible rather than presenting missing data as complete. However, it cannot guarantee that an external network, provider, RPC service, or route will be available when you need it.

Can Smartable see or control my keys?

Smartable is non-custodial wallet software. Your recovery phrase and signing authority remain under your control. Do not send your recovery phrase, private key, password, or device-unlock secret to anyone.

Smartable will never ask for your recovery phrase. Anyone who asks for it is not Smartable and is not providing legitimate wallet support.

Question 9

What can an AI see?

Accepted Answer

Only what you share with it. No AI connects to Smartable or to any wallet in it, and none can sign, send or ask the app for a transaction.

To have an AI service analyse an account, Smartable prepares a text with the public addresses, networks and analysis task you choose. It contains no balances, wallet names, recovery phrase, private keys or passwords. You review it, then share it with the AI service yourself. A public address can reveal its balances and transaction history.

Is Smartable audited?

Not yet. Smartable has not completed an independent security audit.

Automated tests help identify and prevent some problems, but they do not guarantee that the wallet is free of vulnerabilities. Use care, protect your recovery material, keep the app updated, and start with small amounts when using a new network or route.

Question 11

Is Smartable open source?

Accepted Answer

Smartable is preparing to publish selected core wallet materials for review, including security documentation, published-source scope, licence information, and third-party notices. They are not published yet.

The complete Smartable application and its assets are not released as open-source software unless a specific component is expressly identified as such. Published source materials do not by themselves prove that every app build corresponds to the published source.

Question 12

What happens if Smartable stops operating?

Smartable does not hold your crypto-assets. The availability of the app, asset aggregation, price data, quotes, routes, providers, and support may change or end, but Smartable cannot take custody of your assets.

Your ability to recover or move assets depends on the recovery material you control, the relevant network, and compatible wallet software. Keep recovery material secure and keep independent records of important addresses and transaction details.
