How to tell fake Smartable support from the real thing

Smartable will never ask for your recovery phrase, private key, password, PIN or recovery shares, and never asks you to sign a transaction to "verify" or "recover" a wallet. Anyone who does is not Smartable, whatever name or logo they use.

Wallet support is one of the most impersonated things on the internet, because the payoff is immediate: one recovery phrase typed into one form empties a wallet for good.

What Smartable will never do

  • Ask for your recovery phrase, a recovery share, a private key, your wallet password, your PIN or a backup password. There is no situation, verification step or emergency in which that is a real request.
  • Ask you to sign a transaction or message to "verify", "validate", "synchronise", "unlock" or "recover" your wallet.
  • Ask you to type your phrase into a website, or to install software that lets somebody see or control your screen.

Smartable has no phone line and no account that can "restore access" for you. There is no account to restore — the wallet is only on your phone.

Where real help is

This Help Center. Help & support in the app's Settings opens it. It is written help — there is no chat or ticket system behind it.

Anyone who asks for any of the things above is not Smartable, whatever name, address, avatar or logo they use — a search result with a phone number, a profile carrying the logo, a person who appeared in your messages after you asked about a problem in public.

If you already typed your phrase somewhere

Act now. Create a new wallet, write down its new phrase, and move your funds to it straight away. A phrase that has been shown to anybody is spent: treat it as known, and do not use it again.

Do the same if you signed something a stranger sent you and do not know what it was. Then check token approvals and revoke anything you do not recognise.

What the app shows

  • “Help & support”

Security note

Never share your recovery phrase, private key, password or device PIN. Smartable will never ask for them or ask you to sign a transaction to “verify” or “recover” your wallet.
